Very interesting incident. A group of foreign militants, said to be from the Netherlands, were arrested by Hezbollah in a sensitive area within the southern suburb of Beirut. The detainees were fully armed and with vehicles, and were handed over to the Lebanese Army Intelligence the next day. The embassy of the Netherlands immediately requested that the Dutch militants be handed over. The military personnel admitted they were in fact Dutch and members of the Dutch military and said they were in the southern suburb to conduct an evacuation drill in case of an emergency.

The Dutch military personnel were interrogated by the Lebanese army and were immediately handed to their embassy in Beirut. However, in the interrogation they said they didn’t coordinate with their embassy before conducting the “drill”.
