You can’t designate a military HQ as a consulate and expect to get away with it.

So Israel attacked an Iranian Military Complex then (just happens to be their Consulate). Iran retaliates by a larger attack on Israel's military complexes. All is fine and dandy with what Israel did because 'Iran man bad'. Iran's retaliation to Israel isn't fine because 'Israel man good'. I get it, "it's called the HYPOCRACY of war" 🙄
Literally every embassy in the world has military personnel, armaments and is used by special forces and intelligence services of that nation. Your statement is an absolute embarrassment to yourself. Please stop denigrating yourself and the UK for the sake of Israeli approval. Grow a spine.
@afneil Also he doesn't understand the difference between a "Consulate & an Embassy " a "Consular Official and an Ambassador ". I do after living and working in multiple countries overseas for nigh on 15 years.
@afneil That’s not what Jeremy Bowen said, he says it was well know it was a consulate. He should know.
@afneil I actually saw the building described as an Annex. Damage to the main building and adjacent (empty) Canadian embassy were not significant. Hiding military infrastructure among more innocent ones is very "on brand" for this outfit, isn't it?
@afneil Many military officials are at American and British diplomatic residencies whose activities have included actions in that region. If your justification becomes the norm, they can be attacked as legitimate targets. All the perpetrators have to declare they military targets.
@afneil If the host country agrees it is a consulate, then it is a consulate. It cannot be that a 3rd country can simply take a different view and go round bombing any building it chooses.
@afneil If a place is designated as a consulate, it is to be treated as consulate, even if it is a centre of illegal activities. Legitimate regimes are expected to respect that. Iran, the US, the UK and pretty much every country uses their consulate for non diplomatic purposes. Right?
