It's incredible to me that there were people out there rooting for this merger because they thought it would somehow "benefit" workers and gamers. Mergers destroy jobs, ruin lives, reduce consumer choice, and make our economy less free and less fair. Always.

A vocal segment of corporate fanboys came after me for criticizing Microsoft and the merger. Now that 1,900 of the workers who create their favorite games have been laid off, I hope they've learned something. The console war is bullshit. The war against corporate power is real.
@adamconover I knew that this would happen from the get go. All the talk of "its gonna be good for gamers." is bs. -caused even more division between platform gamers -released a sub par Call of Duty of game -gave MS to just sit on tons of IP they are doing nothing with -needless fired
@adamconover Regardless of todays news, Bobby and toxic culture are behind ABK. Games going on Game Pass benefits gamers. You talk about reduced consumer choice as PlayStation still has a monopoly on console gaming. Please (Majority 3rd party games skip Nintendo, just as Sony wants)
@adamconover @IwriteOK Remember how excited most people were about Disney acquiring 20th Century Fox? So many jobs lost because of redundancy. One less studio there to support so many talented people. But hey, least the X-Men will be apart of the MCU. Our priorities as a society suck.
Anyone losing their job is horrible, especially during these unsettled times. Though I suggest doing some research, it's an industry wide issue that is a result of "over hiring" during the pandemic. Does it make it right? Absolutely not, but blaming @Microsoft for everything wrong with the industry is false, and you know it.
@adamconover It was not a Merger 👍 It's was a takeover
@adamconover On that fateful day, Feb. 27, 2024...
@adamconover What I find frustrating about this merger is how impossible it is to talk about without xbox fanboys crying about the xbox tax, it reminds me of when Disney bought Fox and everyone wanted us all to just stfu and fanboy over Wolverine hanging out with Iron Man.
