Also, I've been observing the DAU discourse overnight, and while I agree that it is an important metric, other factors should also be considered, like how the company's DAU figures looked like before, and what the revenue per DAU (RPDAU) also looks like. Sure, one could argue that they can show investors that people have not stopped logging in, but they have low RPDAU figures to show for it - you can't look at one piece of the puzzle and ignore the other - this is a recipe for unnecessary witch-hunting and policing, which I am absolutely against. @Yoboroten shared their website with data from SensorTower - releasevalko.com/#en/data, and I will post some snippets relevant to this discussion. Screengrab summary/observation: 1. The TLDR version 2. Graph shows 1/5 of players left but those who stayed stopped payin 3. DAU regularly has peaks and troughs throughout the month - and only consistently declined after Valko's cancellation. 4. RPDAU - how spend per user declined drastically after Valko's cancellation In conclusion - we cannot police how other people boycott as long as at the end of the day we are hitting them were it hurts. Boycotts are VOLUNTARY and I welcome them in any capacity. We cannot allow purity culture or this all-or-none mindset to bleed through our movement.
