@_shotzero One can also interpret that Ripley is "Our Man" because she's eventually revealed to be the protagonist and is actually the voice of reason during the initial stages of the discovery. Even more so, the wording of "Our Man" has value when viewing Alien as feminist media...
@_shotzero I've always appreciated the take from the Director's Cut as the first act of Alien tricks the audience into thinking that Ripley is the "Company Man" by being so by the book and at odds with Dallas and the crew. This of course reflects nicely on the ship's name meaning "Our Man".
Feels like we do not talk about phenomenal TV show “You’re the Worst” enough full stop but definitely especially the cinematography and camera work and how it is gorgeous in its own right while serving the story and characters.
This shot from I Am Cuba is so incredible. It's a hook and pulley lift. The handheld camera is connected to a pulley system and taken over by an operator in the cigar factory, then hooked onto another pulley system to glide out through the city. Mind blowing shot design.

This is one of my favorite bits of screenwriting advice. After hearing this, a lot of the negative feedback that I got on earlier drafts started to make sense.

@_shotzero I've always appreciated the take from the Director's Cut as the first act of Alien tricks the audience into thinking that Ripley is the "Company Man" by being so by the book and at odds with Dallas and the crew. This of course reflects nicely on the ship's name meaning "Our Man".
