Earlier this Summer, the U.S Supreme Court made a significant ruling impacting businesses taxed as a C or S-Corp with buy-sell agreements or stock programs funded by corporate-owned life insurance. In the case of Connelly v. United States, the Court decided that life insurance proceeds used to redeem shares should be included in the company's valuation, setting a precedent for many other business owners with similar agreements. There is a distinction between a health insurance broker and a health insurance consultant. A traditional broker will often review 1x per year with you your benefit renewal options that are like for like in plan design and funding. A consultant will show you alternatives that create a long term strategy and be there by your side routinely. Not just at renewal time.

@ImSoSarah It can be somewhat exhausting when introducing these solutions to clients. No one has a “bad” demo…but when a service is implemented, can be a different story.
@WhiteHouse 6/7 Americans have been adversely impacted. Especially those in employer programs. Look are employer premiums on the whole since 2012. Medical Loss Ratio provision in particular have squeezed employer’s bottom line and employee contributions.
I consult for a national employee benefits agency, and represent the Washington DC, NoVa, Maryland markets with a focus as well in New Jersey and Metro Tampa. Our local office consults and manages programs for nearly 100 #governmentcontractors and can support a wide range of specific situations. No two clients are the same, but there are many similarities across employers in the #GovCon space.
Employee benefit programs are consistently a top 3 business expense for almost all employers. For many, the increased cost of benefits is outpacing revenue increases, creating a wedge in P&L. My specific playbook helps employer reverse this course, and transform benefits into a business growth catalyst w/o compromising what is offered to employee’s.
