To the Mayo County Board, the management team, the players, and the extraordinary Mayo supporters worldwide, your perseverance, belief, and unwavering passion over the last 75 years have been nothing short of inspiring to the entire GAA community. To stand on the summit of Irish sport after 11 final heartbreaks is a masterclass in resilience. You have proven that no matter how long or tough the road, dedication and heart will always prevail. We also want to pass on a sincere word of thanks. When we played the Tailteann Final in Croke Park two weeks ago just before your semi final, your supporters stepped up and joined as Wicklow’s 16th man and cheered us on every step of the way, a gesture of true GAA sportsmanship that we won't forget. A special word to our own County Treasurer, Larry Howard, a proud Mayo man through and through. God only knows when we will actually see him back in Wicklow again, but we know he’ll be celebrating every second of it! Enjoy bringing the Sam Maguire home to the West. 🚨 Some children are being left behind on spinal surgery waiting lists. @CHI_Ireland 📄 Dept of Health notes show: ✅ “Non-complex” cases → outsourced to Blackrock → surgery in 2–4 months. ⛔ “Complex” cases — like many with Spina Bifida or CP — Some wait years. 📌 21 children are “suspended” from the list for clinical reasons — a very high number. They vanish from official figures but are still waiting. ⚠️ Outsourcing to Blackrock isn’t a fair, national pathway. It’s surgeons managing their own lists. If your surgeon works there, you might be moved & treated quickly. If not — you stay stuck. 🏥 No child from Temple Street has ever been outsourced to Blackrock. What does that say about equity in this system? #LucyNugent 💡 A child with a mild curve can get surgery in months. 💔 A child with severe scoliosis can be left waiting years. @BernardGloster @CcoHse This isn’t “prioritised by need” — it’s a system that rewards easy cases & leaves the sickest children waiting longest. @KateOFla ‼️ That’s not just mismanagement.
