As an MP representing a constituency of 112,00 people, people with very diverse views and life experiences, I work every day to try and bring people together by leading and showing positive example by going everywhere in Lagan Valley. I certainly don't please everyone all of the time and that's not the aim. But we have an important role in working for all and showing good example. Standing in a crowd with people covering faces with masks or scarves whilst the crowd shout obscenities and abuse is not something we should be anywhere near, never mind in the middle of. We all have a role to play in providing positive leadership and this falls shockingly short of it.

@arleneseesit Yes - it was unfortunate to see fisker go under, the Ocean SUV had a solar roof. Nissan toyed around but only for the 12v battery. Yes, sodium is less energy dense, but that really does not matter for home storage, and grid storage, which will be required in the future.

@arleneseesit Rapid chargers also absolutely do not need an hour to charge a car. Most will not spend more than half an hour, and cars are only charging faster, and chargers are only getting faster.

@arleneseesit and do not need to public charge. i average 15k miles a year, and do not need to public charge. Obviously we need more solutions for those without a driveway etc, but more than half of households do. A 3 pin socket is all most will need.

@arleneseesit Although there does need to be an increased number of chargers. It is good to see that new builds are being built with panels, so renewable production will only increase. We’ve recently been able to start storing solar energy in sodium batteries, essentially a byproduct of salt.

@arleneseesit The makeup of our generation is actively being addressed, with percentage of renewables increasing. EVs have only started to become mainstream in the last 10 yrs or so, it’ll take a while to catch up, however we’ve already got more charge points in the UK than fuel pumps.

@arleneseesit I completely agree with you on them being made out to be much cleaner than they are, although they’re getting better. Most people inc myself know it’s really not having much of an effect, but we own them because of how cheap they are to run, and in my opinion, are nicer to drive.

@arleneseesit Yes, simplistically. Without getting into units and conversions etc. requiring 100units force at 25% efficiency, 400units input. 130 required @ 85% efficiency, 153units input required. the EV requires 247 arbitrary units less than the petrol.

@arleneseesit Approx 50% & 35%. About 7% grid > house in the UK. 85-90% of the energy in my battery spins my wheels. It would be more efficient to put petrol into a generator to charge my EV to drive, than to just drive a petrol car. The weakest part of an EVs efficiency is the oil generator.

@KenDunn27 @banterchips @JimAllister you’ve proven only your inability to stick to your own argument. you do realise that the volume of moisture content released by boiling the kettle is same/greater than a heat pump dryer cycle, right? not per amount of time of each appliance being used, but rather a cycle of each?
