손절을 주저하면 절대 안 되는 이유. 미국에 산불이 나서 밀밭으로 번짐. 이때 한 농부가 트랙터를 몰고 불길 앞을 가로지르며 자기 밭을 갈아엎음. 타들어가는 쪽을 과감히 포기하고 미리 갈아 엎어버림. 결과적으로 밀밭 일부는 잃었지만, 남은 밭과 주변 가옥 모두 지켜냄. 인간 관계도 똑같음. 나를 갉아먹고, 선 넘는 인연을 정 때문에 못 끊어내면 결국 내 삶 전체가 다 타버림. 아깝다고, 미안하다고, 아쉽다고 주저할 시간이 없음. 끊어내야 할 땐 트랙터로 밭을 갈아엎듯 확실하게 엎을 수 있어야함. 잃은 관계에 연연하지 말고, 남은 내 삶을 지키는 데 집중하자.
