FROM POLAND WITH LOVE event happens on Steam. Prices in Poland look a bit funny as people already experienced during summer sale. If you missed any big hits they are available at discount again, some even at record low price. Personaly JDM looks appealing and at a decent discount too.

Is Xbox going digital only as well? With the recent leak about Disc2Digital feature with Xbox PC app doesn't neceserly mean that the future with this company will be better than with their competitor PlayStation. As for a while now games industry races to the bottom in challange who can provide the worst offer to consumer and still go out with the money. For now the backward compatible games from Original Xbox and Xbox 360 work through disc detection and downloading game file compatible with console its played on before the game is launched. In this way Xbox One is not truely backwards compatible as it relies on server acces and licenced product thgat is provided as an extra to already owned game. Why does it even matter? From what is known about Disc2Digital system it seems like at some point in 8th generation Xbox started to include ID code for every released game disc creating data that is then verifyable for ownership transfer letting users play games without putting a disc into console but as soon as anyone else plays it back while online that ownership gets transfered. This means that if 10th generation Xbox codename Helix is natively backwards compatible with previous Xbox One and Series consoles and have a disc drive it would leave a loophole of playing game offline while someone else keeps it in library. It means that more likely than not Helix has no disc drive and Disc2Digital system is developed make possible to owners of a physical games on xbox possible to generate a licences using PC or Xbox console of games that they have to then Play on Helix. What happens to games incompatible with this system is unclear and if the entire catalogue of backwards compatible games is maintained in coming generation but it definitely seems like a problem with current storage prices. With discless system maybe Xbox will switch to a cartridges? They already have a propriatary memory expansion port on Xbox Series S and X so maybe just use that with some games taking over 100GB that's not even far off. What ever the outcome is once servers are down none of licences will remain available and hopefully at least downloaded file will remain playable. But that doesn't sounds like a finished product of creative industry but rather a FOMO fuled cash grab. Future will tell what Xbox will do under the new management but it doesn't seem like 10th generation consoles will be much cheeper than Steam Machine.

The first announcment informed about discontinuation of physical discs production from the start of 2028 and making games on PlayStation available only through PlayStation Store to 'prioritize our resources to drive innovation in how players can access games and provide choices as to where players prefer to purchase new games'. Amazing set of choices to not own a game as a product as in that format it's a licence. To match that future with what happens when the company, in that case PlayStation no longer makes enough money to fulfill suport for said games in a form of downloading what user paid for they release a second announcment. 'As the PlayStation Store continues to evolve to support modern commerce systems... we will need to close PlayStation Store on these devices' So in few years or 2 decades like in case of PS3 don't count on owning any of your games as they are digital only. and as Marcus Kincaid from Borderlands wisely said 'No refunds.' @ZhugeEX Its disapointing as a full market control move where sony not only takes your money to let you play online but ale now your library of games is only a licence they can remove at any time and there is no legal way to own your games.
