Every collector wants the 10. But if it comes back a 9, there should be a way to price that risk before the grade is known. Before the Slab will let collectors trade raw to graded outcomes. The market already exists. The Index is just building the rails for it.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but not everyone wants digital assets, esp when it comes to TCGs. There is a majority out there who actually like holding their physical cards. Who enjoy pulling their binders out and closely inspecting their cards on occasion, looking at textures and even speculating on grades. You trying to force everything to be digital will only push them away.

One of my favorite things about Before the Slab is that there is no inventory bottleneck. We don’t need warehouses full of cards. Collectors already have the supply. Millions of cards sitting in binders, collections, and shops. Before the Slab is the missing piece. 👌

Every grading tier closure reinforces the same thing: The market needs a consensus layer Before the Slab. Because while submissions pause, collectors will still: 🔸Buy raw 🔸Evaluate condition 🔸Debate grades 🔸Price risk 🔸Hunt upside The raw card market will not stop just because grading slows down. But, price discovery will become fragmented. Another problem solved by “Before the Slab”.

Excited to officially join @SuperteamBLKN ! I’ve been building on Solana since 2021. But this past year, I started building in a market I actually care about: TCGs and raw cards before grading. Collectors already speculate before they submit. In Discords. In Instagram comments. At card shows. But there is no real market structure around it. That is what I’m building with Before the Slab on JK Index: A market primitive around grading uncertainty. Raw card markets are hard. Grading is subjective. And the friction with existing grading companies keeps getting louder. That is why I think the opportunity is massive. Superteam Balkan was helping me before I was even officially a member. Grateful to make it official 🙏
