Amazing how people are making assumptions about our “lack of solidarity” without knowing anything about what we have been up to the last 15 days. If issuing statements alone could solve crises, we would be in a different world. Watch this space for more from me.

@_ADeshpande The crisis in question is not whether one person keeps his job or not. It is about a public conversation on academic freedom in India, and so statements are precisely what would help.
@_ADeshpande Is it true that he has resigned? What is the plan of action that you're going to adopt?
@_ADeshpande Assumptions can be made given the past track record of @AshokaUniv & its shameful conduct in @pbmehta case & other two cases prior to his where two people were made to quit just because their thoughts on #Kashmir were potentially jeopardising govt clearances for new campus.
@_ADeshpande Hello there, many have not forgotten the documented "spinelessness of epic proportion" starkly shown by Ashoka when global famed public intellectuals resigned (or made to do so) in the face of lack of academic solidarity, management protections...!
@_ADeshpande ashwini, @Jayati1609 saying 'lack of solidarity' is correct from what we know so far. attacking her is to attack the messenger, let's not. the univ is 'private' in more ways than one - and if indeed there was solidarity with the prof, we need something from a reliable authority
@_ADeshpande So u all defend fraudulent work too 🤔 🙄
