You can work on something for 10+ years with little visible progress, and then have 1 year where it feels you make more progress than in the entire previous decade. This is a major reason why you shouldn't give up. The time it takes is a test of your commitment.

@ZubyMusic Actually kind of feel that recently with weight loss. It’s like my body just did a 180 after a year of grinding at the gym. Let’s feel stronger, back is strong, standing straighter, knees hurt less, weight coming off… etc
@ZubyMusic Yes, and if you do something with great presence and intention, you rocket to your goal. If you do it desultorily, it could take a decade to get to where you could have been at the start.
