A few of you wanted my input on this: My thoughts on DEI and the mayor of Baltimore? He was voted in by the people. Whether they voted for him *because* he’s Black, or because he was the best candidate for the job is up to the people who voted him in. However… As someone who has busted his ass for everything he’s got, if anyone were to call me a “DEI hire,” I’d be highly insulted. However, for the “notice a pattern” crowd, that’s just what they would call me without knowing anything else. The far-Right is now using “DEI” in the same way the Left uses “racism.” They sprinkle it on everything. Think and understand before you use that term.
@ZeekArkham I’m good with the Baltimore mayor. He seems very intelligent and loves his city. Nice to see someone young in power. But DEI does exist.
@ZeekArkham Personally, after hearing him speak over the last couple days, (only knowledge I have of him, not being from Baltimore) He doesn’t seem like an equity hire. He sounds like an extremely intelligent, well spoken man that reflects the politics of Baltimore.
@ZeekArkham 💯my friend. We can't be like them or we lose. The left likes to put everyone into little convenient boxes, he talks/dresses like this so he must be X (fill in the blank). WE DO NOT DO THAT! We should always judge people on their own individual merits, morals, & character.
@ZeekArkham Fair point but that will not stop me from using when we know that the case
@ZeekArkham I don’t put DEI and elected officials in the same box at all. DEI is what elected officials push down our throats. The reason people elect officials with DEI agendas are the ones that concern me.
@ZeekArkham Good point. I believe that is part of the plan. They knew that this could cause more division. And, it can. If we let it.
@ZeekArkham 100% agree…that is exactly correct.
The second city with the highest murder rate is Baltimore in Maryland. There were 348 murders in the city, with an average of 58.63 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. The majority of murders in Baltimore are centered in a few high-density areas. According to a Baltimore Sun research, gun deaths are concentrated in a quarter of the city’s communities. Baltimore is a septic tank of crime and lower mobility. Black on Black crime, gangs, murders.
