Just got lunch with this INCREDIBLE human, @krdonnelly Idk why, but very early on in the conversation I got the vibe that Katelyn was one of those people… …one that, on paper, looks like an absolute superstar. Like she’s played the career/money game to a T, and dominated…. BUT also the kind of person who isn’t defined by their professional success. Someone with a vast array of interests. The kind of person who thinks deeply, who writes, who ruminates on the nature of relationships, and friendships. The kind of person who seeks little opportunities to foster creativity in their lives. (Okay maybe I couldn’t tell all* of that from the outset, but you get the picture) Katelyn is sharp af, but also super kind. My favorite type of person. Today we talked about so much, but here’s what I can remember: 🌞 How to be cool (hint: be the best, most authentic version of yourself) 👶🏻 Would your 10 year old self be proud of you? 🧠 The Scene-genius (or scenius) of atx 🎨 How learning and art go hand in hand (and why we stop being creative when we stop learning) 🍸 The bartender at whistlers lol ✍️ Writing a newsletter three years straight 💰What people do after money is no longer a concern? 👵🏻 Creativity and caretakers …and why people in education need to be taken way more seriously (and why they shouldn’t play into the magoo!) 👨🏫📖 This was a wildly illuminating conversation that felt like part 1, of a 7 part miniseries. Loved it, love @krdonnelly, 10/10
@ZacSolomon @krdonnelly The Austin Scenius is intersecting 😁
@ZacSolomon @krdonnelly You're spot on! She's one of those few unassuming geniuses you'd cross paths in your lifetime!!
