Hi, professional TV editor here 👋 This is an incredible use of CGI, and is exactly what it should be used for. Set extension is one of the most popular (and unnoticed) methods of compositing, and the fact you didn't realize it was CG until after the movie, is the point. :)

Oftentimes, it is easier & cheaper to have your VFX team comp a wall into a shot you filmed on a soundstage (or different city/building/whatever) than it is to fly your cast & crew onsite, ship gear, hire local crew, get permits, etc etc.
@YourAvgBellman I believe the point is that wall was incredibly noticeable. The whole background of the scene is CGI but doesn’t look glaringly obvious. That wall looks like plastic or some shit
@YourAvgBellman not trying to do a gotcha just genuinely asking but wouldn’t it be better to film on location or with an actual set just so you could actually know what it would like in the movie on the day?
