Today, the Committee to Keep the Chiefs and Royals in Jackson County released the following statement from Kansas City Royals Chairman and CEO John Sherman about the Crossroads ballpark proposal and the development around Oak Street: “I want to thank Mayor Quinton Lucas for his leadership and tireless advocacy as we work to make the best possible ballpark district in downtown Kansas City,” said John Sherman, Chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Royals. “We have been listening to members of the Crossroads community and had thoughtful conversations with the Mayor and City Council to improve the ballpark district impact. Through these conversations we have come to realize the importance of keeping Oak Street open. We acknowledge Oak Street is an integral part of the downtown experience, and therefore we agree to change the ballpark district design to keep Oak Street open. We look forward to working with the Mayor and City Council to begin this joint effort.”
@YesOn1JacksonCo So that means all the renderings are null and void, and you expect us to vote on this without knowing what we are getting. No
@YesOn1JacksonCo We are already voting and they still don't know what they are proposing, they just want the tax $. Vote NO. Let's do it over as a community. Defeat this mess they've made and dumped on Jackson County voters. 💩 👎
@YesOn1JacksonCo John is straight winging this project lol vote no
@YesOn1JacksonCo So the vote will be pulled until everyone can see the new plans. Good move.
@YesOn1JacksonCo Just another sign that the election was rushed and not well thought out.
@YesOn1JacksonCo Why are you treating me as a voter as a homely girl whom you are her only option to get a date? Is this your way giving me a coupon for me to pay for the dinner and entertainment?
@YesOn1JacksonCo If the Royaps don't have their ducks in a row yet at this late date, Why are we already voting?
