With one changed draft pick, the Broncos ... - would have an exciting young QB - maybe avoid hiring Hackett - don't have Russell Wilson - have all the picks from the Wilson trade - don't spend $242 million on Wilson The butterfly effect is real. sports.yahoo.com/russell-fly-ef…
@YahooSchwab Bad GMs/leadership and least give fans the would’ve/should’ve/could’ve discussions. Broncos look prime for a double digit playoff appearance drought by 2025.
@ChipNshoulder The thing is, I don't think he's a bad GM. He's a good GM who made two incredibly big mistakes at HC and QB, it seems. I don't know how you reconcile those two things, but I do believe Paton is a good GM overall.
@YahooSchwab @ChipNshoulder You can’t be considered a “good”GM when you whiff horribly on a HC and QB in the same off-season. This is what gets a GM fired and this will be his legacy in everyone’s eyes no matter what else he did.
@YahooSchwab Too early to tell but not many make it past the two mistakes you outline. That contract was an anvil. The assets given away for Wilson and then the double down on the contract is just woof!
@YahooSchwab @ChipNshoulder I’m conflicted about Paton. Never understand passing on a QB as highly-rated as Fields was when you don’t have a QB in the top 1/3 in the NFL. Gregory’s signing might show worse judgement than Wilson. Don’t believe Hackett actually said anything to show he was the best choice.
@YahooSchwab @ChipNshoulder Other than that, how was was the play Mrs. Lincoln?
