Homeworld was one of those games that could make an entire evening disappear. You’d sit down at the family PC, hear that soundtrack start up, and before long you were completely lost in space managing a fleet that somehow started to feel like your own. The huge battles were impressive, but it was the atmosphere that stuck with you. Quiet, lonely, beautiful, and unlike almost anything else on PC at the time. Some games remind you of the era they came from. Homeworld takes you right back to it.

I don’t think all these dumb far leftists are evil lol. Just like I don’t think all these stupid far right people are evil. Some of them on both sides are, but most of them are just stupid. People act stupid in groups online and say stuff they don’t mean and as long as you don’t pick up a gun I’m pretty willing to empathize with you. So like I don’t hate Hasan. He has dumb ideas that I think are destructive and bad but I don’t think he’s actually a supporter of terrorism. I’m confident he doesn’t want innocent people to die ever. Just like I don’t and I’m sure you don’t and almost everyone doesn’t. The far left has spent years saying “Israel deserved October 7th” and the Israeli right has said “Gaza deserves it.” And “deserve” is such a dumb word here. Ther is nothing you can do that deserves a terror attack on innocent civilians. There just isn’t. And the Palestinian people don’t deserve to die for the sins of Hamas. Of course they don’t. When the left can properly disagree with me is that i think Hamas is to blame for much (but not all) of the civilian deaths in Gaza because Hamas started the war, and used human shields. If you don’t agree with that, fine. A lot of the left will say “israel is to blame for 10/7 just the same way you’re saying because of apartheid” or whatever. I don’t agree with that, but people can believe whatever they want. What I really don’t like is this discourse game where everyone acts shocked when people get offended by how they characterize the events. And this little 9/11 gotcha is a perfect example. Hasan didn’t say “9/11 was good.” He said “america deserved 9/11.” This might be news you can use but a lot of people in America feel pretty strongly that 9/11 was bad. That we didn’t deserve it. That we couldn’t deserve it. When Israelis murder Palestinians just for funsies im not defending them. Prosecute them for murder! And that happens too much and Israel should do more to stop it. But when I see that happen, I get mad. I don’t default to blaming the victim. The left defaulted to blaming the victim after 10/7. They do it all the time. They did it about 9/11. Well, stop whining about how people get offended by it.
