FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WIIKWEMKOONG, ON – June 25, 2026 — Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) arrested two individuals on June 21, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., after receiving a traffic complaint about an ATV on Wikwemikong Way.   Officers attended and located the ATV with a female driver and male passenger. The driver, 29-year-old Eliza MISHIBINIJIMA of Wiikwemkoong, was found to be wanted on an outstanding WTPS warrant and was arrested. During the investigation, police located suspected cocaine and fentanyl.   The male passenger, 31-year-old Connor SCOTT, of no fixed address, was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the Ontario Provincial Police and was arrested.   wtps.ca/atv-traffic-co…

Officers located the individual who sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported by ORNGE to Health Sciences North (HSN) in Sudbury for medical treatment. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wiikwemkoong, ON — May 2, 2026 — A search warrant executed on May 1, 2026 led to a seizure of suspected controlled substances, including cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and prescription pills, with an estimated street value exceeding $126,000. Officers also seized over $20,000 in Canadian currency and two handguns, including one loaded firearm. Members of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS), with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team (ERT), Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and the UCCM Police Service K9 Unit, have laid multiple charges following the execution of a search warrant in the community. WTPS was honoured to receive recognition for two major grants—Project Wigwam and the Victim Support Grant—bringing $458,000 back into our community.
