Players handing over medals. A WWE-style entrance from Jurgen Klopp. And Michael Sheen. Do you like @tomrenniesoccer's idea for the pregame festivities for Liverpool-Man City?
Pep Guardiola released a statement in support of Manchester City… So we put it through the @tomrenniesoccer translator 😂
Once the Man City punishments are handed out, the next conversation needs to be about distribution of money. The top clubs have hoarded too much and won’t stop. We need more shared around, squad limits, wage caps. The rules need to encourage competition. We don’t have that.
I’m a big believer in contrition and redemption. @Higginbotham05 asked me on @SiriusXMFC what would restore my faith in football, after it was shaken by this Man City story. It would start with contrition, and an appropriate punishment. Which has to be severe. @SiriusXMSports
We should not allow sovereign wealth funds to own our football clubs. Obviously. @SiriusXMFC @SiriusXMSports
Of course what Guardiola achieved at Manchester City is tainted by this. Of course it is. He wasn’t working within the same restrictions as everybody else. Could he have achieved the same things on Tottenham’s budget? @SiriusXMFC @SiriusXMSports
It’s frustrating we recorded this just before the official statement was released. It’s actually so much worse than reported. It’s all so sad. It’s sad for all of us that they did this.
An independent Commission has found Man City guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules & the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with the investigation. It’s the only topic today: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/wee…
“We can do what we want”
“City have defrauded us of a decade of Premier League football. It will all now be tainted with an asterisk!” - @tomrenniesoccer Should Man City be stripped of their titles?

They cheated.

Man City have been found guilty. They cheated. They cheated themselves. They cheated their fans. They cheated all of us. How can this era of success ever be thought of as such ever again? Even the Aguero moment? Nothing but ashes. @SiriusXMFC @SiriusXMSports

The former England defender @realpaulparker2 joins @tomrenniesoccer this week to talk England v Spain, the international calendar and should Thomas Tuchel still be the manager? Plus Tom has some thoughts on fans drinking in the stands! youtu.be/cgtnjl91KKQ?is…

I think I might have got too excited about Chelsea. Did we all? They look a long way off challenging for the Premier League title anytime soon. @SiriusXMFC @SiriusXMSports
Sunderland’s penalty against Arsenal should not have been given, the Premier League's Key Match Incidents panel say. The decision was unanimous. But they decided 3:2 that it was right not to overturn the decision which was unanimously wrong. What? @SiriusXMFC @SiriusXMSports
Arsenal struggled against Brighton at times at the weekend because the old ways of slowing down the action, manipulating the clock and buying free kicks didn’t work. The law changes specifically affect their style. They’ll need to adapt after Saturday. @SiriusXMFC
If Taty Castellanos spat at Filip Marschall, then he should get a six game ban. If the Millwall keeper lied about the West Ham striker, shouldn’t he get a six game ban? @WeekInTheTackle
BAD MANAGEMENT. BAD ORGANIZATION. NO LEADERSHIP. @tomrenniesoccer explains why Tottenham’s issues fall squarely on Roberto De Zerbi
What is going on at Tottenham? This weekend, there was plenty of effort, but not much direction, organisation or confidence. They also haven’t bought for the key position. That falls on the manager doesn’t it?
