There are exceptions, but starting next school year, all public and charter schools in Indiana will have to prohibit portable communication devices like phones, tablets, laptops and gaming devices during instructional time. wthr.com/article/news/l…
Interesting that tablets would be included. They only use tablets/chromebooks.. are we going back to hardback books 📚, or will the teacher be expected to teach vs use YouTube? It'd be great to get back to excellency in education. I don't think we have to remove tech to achieve that. In fact, should probably embrace it? It's the future afterall!
@WTHRcom Cell phones became affordable in the late 80s. There were emergencies in the late 80s. How on earth were so many kids able to survive without cell phones back then?
@WTHRcom It's long overdue. Kids are too consumed with their personal devices and miss important education because of it.
@WTHRcom This is not the place of the government to try to enforce.
@WTHRcom So ridiculous when schools have their own policies. No overreach at all
@WTHRcom It will be a test of the schools ability to enforce these rules. Given the addictive level of students to these devices & very weak parents, I'll believe it when I see it.
