We are at 1 million followers and I want to take this opportunity to reflect on my mother that passed away in 2009. She was the first Republican I ever met. Although my dad was a Democrat and they were married until her death I chose to follow her choice. She passed on December 3, 2009 when battling MS and Scleroderm, I was 15 at the time. She was pregnant with me in this photo) My dad married her after they found she was pregnant I chose to become a Republican at 6 when my mom chose to vote for George Bush and my dad chose to vote for Al Gore. In the car on the way back home I asked my dad why he voted for Gore and he said ‘Son he is a Democrat and that is what Black people supposed to do’ I asked my mom why she voted for Bush and she said “Nicky because Black people haven’t been doing good since they have been doing what they were ‘supposed to do’ that is why” I made my choice right there and never looked back. My mom used to pray for someone to help wake up the Black community and change the way Republicans judged a book by its cover. It’s hard for me not to get emotional because looking back I believe I became the man my mother was waiting on. Thank you everyone; I view you all as my family now so I wanted to share a little bit about me with you. I’ll admit, I’m a bit emotional right now. I look forward to fighting with you all in this upcoming election.
