The largest consequence of Elon taking over Twitter may well be not any specific policy decision he makes, but rather the morale effect of his supporters feeling emboldened and his detractors feeling like they are arguing on enemy territory. This is happening already.
Not sure why so many people are reading into this tweet the subtext that I'm anti-Elon. I'm not!
@VitalikButerin Why do so many people who are into decentralization and DAOs get excited about this kingship dynamic?
@VitalikButerin Perhaps this consequence is needed. The scales have been unbalanced for a while - in rebalancing acts the scale always tips over, in time always reaching equilibrium This calls for a consensus mechanism that can handle the next-gen of social platforms decentralizing moderation
@VitalikButerin Do you think @elonmusk should move twitter to @desoprotocol ?
@VitalikButerin It’s better than twitter’s status quo prior to Musk’s purchase. Imagine me, a nobody, got banned permanently because I was retweeting what I thought sounded rational and logical.
@VitalikButerin Just worry about eth gas fees homie
@VitalikButerin We got everyone covered in terms of $Burn, #Shibadoge is for the community
@VitalikButerin "his detractors feeling like they are arguing on enemy territory" brother, their 'feelings' are what has got them into this mess.
