That doesn't erase Neto's goals or how Chelsea controlled the 2nd half. But the decision was wrong to be fair.👇 Rogers helped release Hato for the opening goal. That makes the missed booking important, not some harmless first-half incident. Alonso can enjoy the win and still expect his forward to stop making challenges like that. Especially while already booked.

@CFCTheUniverse Law 12 doesn't say winning the ball makes a challenge legal. A reckless follow-through is still a yellow. Garner's contact can be judged separately. And good mentality isn't taking unnecessary risks when already booked. Staying on the pitch is part of winning.

@CFCWils I saw Garner's studs too. That doesn't cancel out Rogers' follow-through. Each action should be judged separately under the rules. For me, both deserved yellows. The referee decided otherwise, and Rogers was fortunate because he was already booked.

@Marvswaevo1 Winning the ball first doesn't automatically make a tackle fair. There are plenty of examples of players being punished for reckless follow-throughs after winning the ball. Rogers caught Garner high while already on a yellow. Fortunately for him, he got away with it.

@Goat_Motion I'm not ignoring any other fouls. I'm discussing one specific incident involving Rogers and Garner. That doesn't mean other decisions were correct. I can disagree with one decision without having to analyse every foul in the match.

@Goat_Motion I'm talking about the Rogers challenge on Garner, not the other incidents. Calling it a 50/50 doesn't automatically make it safe. You can win the ball and still make a reckless challenge. Rogers caught Garner high, and for me that's a yellow.

@niidessy People disagreeing doesn't make the take wrong. If an Everton player already on a yellow had made that challenge, I suspect the reaction would be very different. I judge the challenge, not the shirt. Chelsea winning doesn't change my opinion.

@Dios_cerca If Garner fouled first, Chelsea get the free kick. That doesn't prevent both players being booked. The free kick and disciplinary action are separate decisions. My point remains that Rogers caught Garner high while already on a yellow.

@JayWayre Having an opinion you don't agree with isn't engagement farming. Garner deserved a yellow for stepping on Rogers, and Rogers deserved one for catching him high. The difference is Rogers was already booked. I've watched it several times. What exactly have I said wrong?

@Dofficialprezzy Winning doesn't mean every decision went Chelsea's way. I'm analysing what happened during the game, not complaining about the result. Chelsea deserved the win, but Rogers was fortunate to stay on. Both things can be true.

@niidessy I wouldn't write Spurs off because of a poor run. They've got quality and can punish mistakes. Having players who can fill in at full-back isn't the same as having proper depth there. It's a concern regardless of the opposition.

Gusto's absence wasn't a selection message. Alonso said he missed Everton through illness. Chavarria also needed tests after a training knock. That's two full-back concerns before Spurs, and Hato playing well doesn't mean Chelsea can ignore the depth issue.
