Who Won? Elon Musk Debates Don Lemon Over the Impact of DEI Programs Lemon repeatedly said, āThereās no evidenceā that DEI programs are lowering medical standards, a comment @ElonMusk believes is a āfalse statement.ā Who is right? Musk calls on Community Notes to settle the score. LEMON: āThere was a repost of Ben Shapiro that you claim that DEI is killing people. Specifically, you point to medicine. You claim that DEI programs are putting people at risk. Do you really believe this to be true? And what evidence do you have to support it?ā MUSK: āWhat I was referring to there was that if we lower the standards for doctors, if the test for a doctor is lowered, then the probability of them making a mistake and killing someone is obviously going to be higher.ā LEMON: āWait, say that again. Iām not sure I understand what you said. I want to make sure I understand what youāre saying.ā MUSK: āYes. If the status for passing medical exams and becoming a doctor, especially something like a surgeon, if the standards are lowered, then the probability that the surgeon will make a mistake is higher. Theyāre making mistakes in their exam. They may make mistakes with people ā and that may result in people dying.ā LEMON: āWhat evidence do you have, though, that theyāre lowering the standards? There is no evidence of that.ā MUSK: āI believe there is.ā LEMON: āThereās no evidence of that, Elon. What is the evidence?ā MUSK: āI believe they have literally lowered the standards at Duke University, and that is what the article was referring to. You are saying they have not lowered the standards?ā LEMON: āThereās no evidence about lowering standards. And I think that there is āā MUSK: āI believe that is a false statement youāre making.ā LEMON: āOkay, well, weāll figure it out.ā MUSK: āThe interesting thing is, when this is posted on the X platform, there will be a whole bunch of things that rebut what you said and what I said. And so people can then make their own decision, based on the replies and the rebuttals and the community notes.ā
@VigilantFox @elonmusk Elon is a racist and uses racist rhetoric to support his racist thoughts. This is not a hard thing to understand.
@VigilantFox @elonmusk I bet he is implying the standards have been lowered so that black students can get in. This is dangerous. Itās the Affirmative Action trope all over again!
@VigilantFox @elonmusk A quick search shows that medical schools have in fact, lowered their GPA and MCAT scores š medschoolcoach.com/easiest-med-scā¦
@VigilantFox Everything Elon said was āI believeā nothing was supported by any facts just his own beliefs. Anyone can believe anything unless you have actually lived through it and felt its effects. Here is a goodš§µto read

@VigilantFox @elonmusk Elonās hustle is trying to get you to think heās objective and that open/out-sourcing the accuracy/moderation of his $44 billion baby absolves him of responsibility for bias, but Twitter is Elon. This is a closed loop. Heās the subject and the source. He controls everything here
@VigilantFox @elonmusk Why do we have āstandardsā when assessing someoneās suitability to quality in any profession? What purpose do they serve? Who sets these standards?
Don Lemon š lied: here is the evidence: I personally coming from a country where i was giving bonus points based on DEI, because i have no parents. However i didnāt needed them as i passed the tests with very high scores. There where however many on the college get into it just because the college have a minority quota to reach. Those ppl took the spot from many who are much talented than them, and those minorities (their college apply score was really low)where having a really hard time on the college. Itās an overall loss for the country to push those kind of DEI on the education or companies.
