Most people will look at @standard_rsv and see another NFT. I think that’s missing the point. The Standard Reserve is experimenting with something much more interesting: an onchain central bank governed by code instead of people. Here’s why I’m paying attention 🧵 1/ The first opportunity is the Genesis Charter. Only 1,000 Founding Charters are planned. They’re designed as soulbound NFTs, meaning this isn’t simply another NFT you mint and flip. The Charter represents a position inside the protocol. 2/ Every Genesis Charter starts with 1 Branch. A Branch represents your share in the system’s solana:2mfyXkzLWBZTVfwZrQwS3Nf1x5Vd59s1fGbRwEFxpump issuance. You can eventually operate up to 10 Branches, but expanding requires Expansion Licenses purchased with solana:2mfyXkzLWBZTVfwZrQwS3Nf1x5Vd59s1fGbRwEFxpump. The interesting part? Those tokens are burned. 3/ The monetary policy is what makes this experiment interesting. The system looks at net ETH flows rather than simply relying on trading volume. More capital flowing into the system → expansion. Capital flowing out → contraction. The protocol is designed to react automatically. 4/ During expansion, protocol revenue can be directed toward building reserves, including tokenized gold. During contraction, the mechanism shifts toward buying and burning solana:2mfyXkzLWBZTVfwZrQwS3Nf1x5Vd59s1fGbRwEFxpump. So the basic idea is: Expansion → issue + accumulate reserves Contraction → buyback + burn It’s essentially trying to turn monetary policy into an onchain algorithm. 5/ There’s another interesting mechanism when you exit. Closing a Branch lets you claim your accumulated solana:2mfyXkzLWBZTVfwZrQwS3Nf1x5Vd59s1fGbRwEFxpump, but you pay a dynamic exit fee. The fee increases with greater exit pressure. Part of the fee is burned, while another part is distributed to participants who remain in the system. And if you close your final Branch, the Charter itself is burned. 6/ This creates a pretty unusual incentive structure. You’re not simply asking: “Will the token go up?” You’re also asking: “Do I want to remain a banker inside the system?” “Should I expand my Branches?” “Is the cost of exiting worth it?” That makes the NFT → token → protocol relationship much more interesting. 7/ The current timing is also important. The first wave of Genesis Charter allocations is already live, with the team saying the allowlist will continue expanding ahead of mint. The initial allocation targeted active DeFi/NFT wallets, educators, content creators and early supporters. 8/ I’m especially interested because this is still extremely early. The whitepaper/mechanism is public, but the actual system has not fully launched yet. That means there’s still a lot to prove: • Smart contract security • Real economic sustainability • Reserve management • Token liquidity • Whether the monetary policy actually works in practice 9/ So I wouldn’t call this “just another NFT mint.” It’s closer to an experiment around: NFTs + monetary policy + DeFi + automated reserves. The concept is ambitious. Whether the economics survive real market conditions is the part I want to see. 10/ If you’re active in DeFi/NFTs or creating content around crypto, I’d at least check your eligibility. The first Genesis Charter wave is live, and the project says more wallets will be added before mint.
