if mike wheeler isn't queer and doesn't have internalised homophobia then why does the concept fit the narrative so well without any plot holes staying consistent every season
In 2022, the Duffer Brothers said they would resist adding new characters in #StrangerThings5. In reality, Season 5 introduces ~23 new named characters, 3 of them main, with the rest being recurring or named roles. That’s roughly an 89% increase compared to Season 4’s existing main + recurring cast, even after the promise to slow things down.

Not gonna blame the cast for anything they did. The Duffers played them too: gave actors vague directions, cut scenes, never let them debunk Byler even though they could debunk everything else, made Noah literally give sweat, blood and tears for hours, used his personal +
Although I still love this show, the ending was disappointing and underwhelming. I think the writers missed a great opportunity to portray the important lesson of love defeating fear, and instead chose a very safe and anticlimactic ending.
I wish the writers would’ve developed Mike and El’s relationship better if this is what they’ve always planned their relationship to be. (Also Mike couldn’t even say ily back to El even in the very end! 😭)
