How GASLESS actually works 🤔 You don't send a transaction. You sign a message. The facilitator takes that signature, submits the transfer, and burns its own ETH for the gas. You never need $ETH. That's x402. Powered by $VLED.
The 402 status code sat unused in the HTTP spec since 1997: "Payment Required." A door nobody built a room behind. Coinbase revived it. We just opened it on Robinhood Chain 🚪 APIs have keys because there was no way to pay per request. Now there is. x402 doesn't kill the API key because it's cool. It kills it because it's finally unnecessary. An AI agent can't sign up. It can't do KYC. It can't wait for your sales team. But it can pay. That's why x402 matters, and why it won't stay niche.
