@rebound_capital I spent lots of time on Elanco & Zoetis in ‘23. Conclusion: it was hard to understand why Zoetis was winning (DD OG at the time, successful new franchises…), and Elanco underperforming so much. Zoetis was lucky, Elanco not. Now things have flipped? Funny & interesting L/S space

I’m in London on 3–4 August and looking to meet people who think launching a fund should not require millions in AUM on day one. There are talented managers with strong personal track records who cannot attract external capital because the regulatory burden and fixed costs are too high. I’m interested in speaking with: • Emerging-manager seeders • Regulatory hosts and umbrella firms • Low-cost fund platforms • Brokers with the permissions to support new managers • Entrepreneurs building compliant capital-raising technology Think social trading or first-loss platforms, but for long-only, unleveraged investment strategies. The FCA says its new ALTS regime will encourage competition and innovation. I’m not holding my breath. Perhaps the industry needs to build its own solution. During Covid, I spent months looking for a hidden payments winner. The ultimate winners were obvious: $V and $MA. Impenetrable moat, extracting a tiny fee while any disruptor was building on their rails. I refused to pay 25x P/E for the obvious, but simplicity often pays off...

So Adyens CFO left. They just bought two companies, effectively giving up on their 'one-tech-stack-to-rule-them-all' philosophy. They paid 10x rev for a loyalty co. Todays deal, I can't understand what they do. Still a long way to a $GPN multiple! #legacyshitco
