Crinan Harbour, at the north-west end of the 9-mile-long Crinan Canal in Argyll, the nautical shortcut from the Firth of Clyde to the Sound of Jura and the Hebrides. The canal was constructed between 1794 and 1801. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/crinan/crinanc…
@UndisScot Got to add that Crinan Wood is an absolute jewel in Scotlands rainforest crown. Great views on top. Start from the car park at the harbour…
@UndisScot My Grandfather Worked On The Crinan Canal From 1897 to 1947 I spent much of my childhood on it going up and down on the boats and puffers the picture is the SS Linnet which took passengers up and down the Canal Ardrishaig to Crinan 9mls for the Oban boat @argyllshiread @obantimes
@UndisScot Perhaps being pedantic that it actually the basin or sea lock at Crinan. Crinan harbour is around the corner, seaward side.
@UndisScot It’s a great easy cycle, done it many times !
