And this goes far beyond gamedev. I think the market will favor skilled individuals and small teams who know how to use AI well. That’s painful for people whose jobs are being disrupted, but ignoring the shift won’t stop it. This is the new reality. We’ll have to adapt.
Using AI to make a game isn’t “press one button and it’s done.” It’s still many, many hours of iteration, fixing, directing, testing, discarding bad results, and putting everything together into something coherent.

What changes is who can make what. A game that once needed a studio may now be possible for one person. A programmer can compensate for weak art skills; an artist can vibe-code mechanics they couldn’t build before.
Finally moved all my game docs into Obsidian. Everything is much easier to organize now.. and much easier to get lost in.

I tried animating in Live2D, but its cursed early-2000s UI scared me off. Too many buttons. Everything is terrifying. So I rigged it in Unity instead. No fancy physics or complex deforms, but better to make something a little worse today than spend 3 months learning a new tool.
