💡Practical Tip 👉When a flare makes you deal with fecal incontinence at night, try to avoid sleeping on your side and in a fetus position. Instead, lie flat on your back without bending your knees. Doing this may help reduce your number of toilet visits 🚽 #ulcerativecolitis

It’s #spring in the northern hemisphere, so, to restock your vitamin D levels (that possibly got depleted during the winter months), make sure you go outdoors and get sufficient exposure to #sunlight. #IBD patients with healthy levels of vitamin D are less likely to get a #flare!

Another possible cause I’ve found is damage to either the muscles or the nerves in the rectal area… But I haven’t found anything conclusive or an official term..
