Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, just recorded a heat index of 136°F (57.8°C) at midnight. A heat index that high is near the limits of human survival.
The highest heat index ever recorded on Earth of 178°F (81°C) actually occurred in Dhahran on July 8, 2003. Check out the local conditions from one of the most humid locations on the planet: weather.gov/wrh/timeseries…
@US_Stormwatch What is the WBGT there?
@US_Stormwatch @SergeZaka tu n'es pas le seul à te faire déglinguer, la mauvaise foi et le déni sont internationaux, florilège de commentaires qui n'ont rien à envier aux français 😳
@US_Stormwatch Good thing most humans are smart and don't live in the middle of a desert.
@US_Stormwatch Nobody is going to take climate change seriously until Netflix isn't available.
@US_Stormwatch Damn, cancel my trip to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia then. Family’s going to be disappointed, but got to tell them it’s too hot for the vaca.
@US_Stormwatch Humans will have to live like termites in those regions to survive - build underground, using termite-style chimneys and circulation tunnels for replacing hot air with cool air to maintain livable conditions. Yup, living like bugs is the future.
