@VFinnishProbs Great, so Europe doesn’t need the US in NATO. We obviously barely do anything there and Europe has everything handled and under control. Don’t know why we’re in NATO then. We can easily cut down on ships and aircraft since we don’t need to worry about defending Europe.
@UFPJR Was skeptical from the start as the hire seemed like McElwain 2.0. I also knew the talent wasn’t up to par year 1, and most reasonable fans knew we wouldn’t be great immediately. But we had to see improvements along the way and there just wasn’t much. For me, it was Arkansas 2023
@katiecouric Wow, the lack of self-awareness. The news has been propaganda for the better part of 20 years now, and you’ve been a contributor to it. People actually are paying attention - to you and your elite clique of friends in the media that have profoundly misled them for years.
@AllKindsWeather I’m done with the whole “X coach turned bottom-feeder program into 9 or 10 win team in just 3 years, so let’s hire them” logic. For every 1 Norvell, there’s 2 or 3 McElwains. If we make a change next year, we need a massive hire, period.
Never forget that we had a the greatest sport on earth and we decided to blow it up because of an all SEC championship game. (Which we ended up having twice again anyway)
@astrogrant@SciGuySpace Unfortunately, those reasons aren’t gonna work for most people that think it’s a waste of money. They just don’t care about that stuff. I’ve found it’s much more effective to cite actual R&D and technological advancements in everyday life that come directly from NASA.
@krassenstein While I support Ukraine, there was an understanding that NATO expansion eastward would halt after a certain point. Also, Ukraine was flirting with joining NATO before the invasion, which easily could’ve resulted in nukes being placed in Ukraine; nullifying your first two points.
@ChrisG_SpX Possibly, but I hope not. While I’m a huge fan of DS9 overall, I always thought the Pah Wraith stuff was a bit over the top and silly. Otherwise, I’m liking the DS9 connections so far. Would really like to get some backstory on where Picard and the Enterprise-E was during the war
@DJSnM@TJ_Cooney Hey @DJSnM, it’s been years since I’ve gone through the CAIB report so I could be mistaken, but I always thought the lethal event was most likely blunt force trauma caused by the rapidly changing, high g-forces immediately following loss of control. If not, I stand corrected.
So do we think a 4-loss, currently unranked, potential Big Ten Champion Purdue would deserve an automatic playoff bid in an expanded playoff over other, better teams that missed their conference championship game? No? This is why I disagree with conference champion auto bids.
@DaveRamsey I bought my gas with a credit card and never paid a penny in interest, and have made hundreds of dollars in cash back from it. If you pay your credit card balance off every month, it’s one of the most powerful financial tools the average consumer can use. This is terrible advice.
@DaveRamsey I should add, if you can comfortably afford a 15 year mortgage, you obviously should do that. But if the choice is between a 30 year and renting, you should buy and build wealth, and not worry about multi-millionaires who can afford the better mortgage telling you it was wrong.
@DaveRamsey You shouldn’t fault people for not being rich enough to afford a 15 year mortgage. If you’re in a position to buy instead of rent, you should buy. A 30 year offers the flexibility for most people to do so. This advice, especially for your target audience, will cause foreclosures.
@Neptunebchdawg1@MrChrisBits Kirby was a better recruiter than Mullen; I don’t think there was ever an argument there. But 2 years ago he had just been blown out by Mullen despite that. Up until last season, he consistently underperformed with better talent. It was reasonable to think he was overrated then.
@MrChrisBits While I agree with your overall point, it’s worth mentioning that Kirby’s first full class in 2017 was ranked 3 in the country with 301.60 points (via 247 composite). Right now, Napier has us at 11 with 260.84. Average rating was also higher. We’ve got lots of work to do.
