@NoContextHumans The store lost $100. Then they got that $100 back. So far store lost $0. But, then the store had to give back $30 in change. So, the store lost $30 for sure. Store also lost $70 worth of goods. So, the store ultimately lost = $30 in cash + $70 in goods = $100 total.
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans Not taking into account the cost of goods/operations. Usually, 10-20% profit of top line sales. So, lost $86-$93
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans He stole a $100 got value of $70 nd Got change of $30 the total the store lost was $200
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans The stolen $100 was not given back when he spent that. That was money that should been there already. I am glad you don’t own a shop or criminals would have you bankrupt in a week.
I agree, but we have to take into account my wife's wisdom on this: the $70 worth of products is the price for the customer, not the actual product cost for the store. Assuming a standard 30% profit margin, the goods paid for with the hundred-dollar bill were not a $70 lost but a $49 one plus the $30 change.
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans Not correct technically the store only lost the cost of the goods so it’s less than $100 assuming that they are selling the goods at a profit not at cost
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans The store lost $170 the $100 and $70 in goods
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans Store lost ( stolen bill) = 100 Guy purchased= 70 Store gave change= 30 Total store lost = 200 $
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans Right but quite less than 100$ because the store makes some benefits on the goods.
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans Incorrect. The store also lost the goods, the goods would have had a cost price attached to them. So this is actually impossible to work out without knowing the cost of goods. For example, the cost of goods could have been $50 or it could have been $20.
@Ty22Best @NoContextHumans The store lost $100. If the theft just left the store and someone else came into the store and bought 70 dollars of goods with 100 and they got 30 back it doesn't mean extra was lost the only thing STOLE was the $100. Everything else is counted for.
