Halftime here at Thomas & Mack between the Hawks and Spurs.
Very quiet game from Carter Bryant thus far who was hoping to operated as a more involved offensive player.
Same could be said for Kingston Flemings, a lot of physicality on him but has still has had some excellent offensive IQ on display.

I’m currently boarding the same flight as the Chicago Bulls Summer League squad.
Can confirm the Noa Essengue growth rumors are true…this man is a giant.
Credit to @Tjonesonthenba for pointing it out earlier, but the reason Peterson’s performance last night was so impressive is because this wasn’t a typical Summer League game.
The Grizzlies rolled out a team full of legitimate NBA rotation players, not guys fighting for the last spot on the bench.
Cam Boozer
Cedric Coward
O-Max Prosper
Jahmai Mashack
Javon Small
These guys have or will be playing real NBA minutes this season, and DP walked them down like he was back in high school.
The competition will inevitably get tougher, but he’s also only going to get better.
Every Summer League produces crazy stat lines, but this performance wasn’t about the box score. It was about the pure skill and ability on display at such a young age.
If this is Year 1, we’re going to have to be ready for what Years 3, 4, and 5 have in store. x.com/Frankie_Vision…
Man, I only caught about two minutes of Peterson’s performance today.
My goodness. Day 1 star.
I’ll do a deep dive through the film tomorrow, but the Jazz are going to be good—and great—way quicker than people think.
Alright, let’s evaluate this completely logically and not emotionally.
Rui was a free agent, so at the end of the day, he chose the Clippers.
A team that is way behind the Blazers in the timeline to compete, with an offer less than what Portland could have put on the table.
We can’t control the variables Hachimura eventually settled on.
Now the question is: did Cronin put an offer on the table at all?
If he did: fair play. Obviously Rui just likes L.A. and wants to be a starter. Maybe he doesn’t care to compete?
If he didn’t: who exactly are we holding this full MLE for?
We have money to spend and not that many players to spend it on.

It was this play in particular where I realized the writing might be on the wall for Shaedon Sharpe’s days in Portland. Not because of the outcome, but because of the lapse of focus, something that isn’t new to Shaedon.
It has never been a talent issue. Sharpe has all the skill and athleticism to become an All-Star caliber guard. It’s always been the mental side of putting it all together and playing with purpose that hasn’t quite clicked.
Twenty points per game is impressive, but when you factor in the subpar shooting splits, turnovers, and tendency to settle for difficult, low-percentage shots, it doesn’t translate to winning as much as you’d hope. That became evident in the postseason, where he could barely stay on the floor.
When his shot isn’t falling and he isn’t getting to the line, it’s hard to point to the trait that keeps him on the court in big moments.
Scoot has his defense and improving playmaking. Jrue has his defense and playmaking. Ja has elite playmaking. Dame commands defensive attention even when he isn’t making shots.
More importantly, all four consistently bring the effort and energy needed to win.
Shaedon isn’t a great defender, isn’t a great facilitator, and at times can be overly nonchalant when all you want is for him to play with the energy you know he possesses.
We’ve seen careers like Zach LaVine’s, and so far Jalen Green’s, where the scoring is undeniable but the traits needed to consistently play winning basketball just aren’t there.
Shaedon’s only 23 and has dealt with injuries, so maybe a change of scenery is exactly what he needs. But with the timeline catching up, he feels like the most movable piece to solve Portland’s backcourt congestion.

@SleeperBlazers I dont think Grant’s fit as a player is bad at all for us, but the money we were paying could get you 2 Jerami Grants.
If he was even on 20M a season I think hes still here.
@gtr1227505235@real_ginentonic You want me to rewatch the series to analyze what exactly? Won’t be too hard considering he was playing 13mins/game but just curious as to what im obviously missing.
Adam Silver needs to make a boss call and tell the Jazz to sit Darryn until Vegas.
He’s miles too good for Summer League, but that matchup against AJ is an absolute must.
I may or may not be attending that game, so I’m totally unbiased.
