@queensblade1100 @FF_XIV_EN You are not required to spend money on the CE. It will not affect your ability to play the game. Lots of games offer a CE that include special ingame/real items for those willing to pay a little bit more. It's absolutely not a new concept to drop more $ for a premium product.

@Sethios_Olafr @para_sector @FF_XIV_EN FF14 isn't the first nor only game that has a monthly fee. Reminder that all of ARR and the first 3 expansions are free when you're playing the free trial. CE are optional content for people willing to pay a little more. It's not mandatory to enjoy the game.

@queensblade1100 @FF_XIV_EN 2) You're basically getting a whole new game with expacs. Other MMOs like WoW also require you to buy new expacs while having a monthly sub. It's kinda how these types of games work. They are a game making company at the end of the day.

@JoeMerrick @imtemzy What makes Pokemon fun for me is if I can lose hours at a time playing the game. While Sc/Vi struggled graphically, I've spent hundreds of hours hunting Pokemon because it was genuinely fun for me. I don't need it made in unreal engine for it to be fun.

@JoeMerrick @imtemzy It's also really cringe to compare Game Freak and Square Enix. Literally comparing apples to oranges as they will have different game and art directions. I'm okay with a Pokemon game that doesn't have the graphics of FF7 because realism graphics isn't meant for all franchises.
