The "figure it out on your own" mindset doesn't build generational wealth, it resets it every generation. This has always been a costly mentality but in this environment it's devastating. Housing is unaffordable. Debt is at record highs. Wages nowhere close to keeping up. Govt and Big biz have imported cheap labor to make it all even more difficult The solo path that was hard in 1995 is nearly impossible in 2026. Families that want to compound wealth should do it together through shared knowledge, shared strategy, shared resources. Sending your kids out at 18 to start from zero isn't toughness, its stupidity. In this economy it's a handicap you're forcing on them. Working together isn't weakness. It's the only move that makes sense right now. In fact, its always made sense.

I think the notion that Boomers spend all their money on themselves and don’t help their children is more of an IQ and class issue than a generational one. High IQ and old money Boomers seem to share their wealth freely and put a lot of effort into preparing their children for

Boomer this, Zoomer that. Every generation thinks the game is rigged against them, and in some ways it is. But at the same time every generation has a few people who stop complaining about the rules and figure out how to win anyway. 30 years from now the story will be the same. The boomers are about to give everyone an opportunity, and those who missed it will complain.
