I feel like some people act like certain segments of AEW's fanbase don't want them to have anything but wrasslin matches. No, they want them to have angles and storylines and promos! Those are fun and important. They just want ones that are, how do I say this, good.
@TrevorDame I/We just don’t want goofy 2010’s WWE bullshit. Stories grounded, logically in the wrestlers character.
@TrevorDame Seriously. WWE gets one good story for the first time in like 15 years and all of a sudden they’re the arbiters of all things storytelling
@TrevorDame Hangman's story building up to him beating Kenny was outstanding storytelling. Don't know what happened to TK that caused him to forget that.
@TrevorDame We want a pro-wrestling promotion that treats its product like a sport and doesn’t insult the intelligence of the audience. For storylines to be done the pro wrestling way…not the fed way.
@TrevorDame So many "bad actors" have made legit criticism impossible to talk about without people getting on you.
@TrevorDame All that ancillary shit is secondary. If Joe and MJF go out there and put on an outstanding match I could care less how good or bad their storyline has been. This is a company that does their best storyline telling in the ring and from bell to bell.
@TrevorDame There is a segment that doesn’t want anything except matches, but it’s small, extremely vocal, and likely to have a spreadsheet that they talk about too much on Twitter. Most people fall into the group you’re describing
@TrevorDame What was bad about last night's show? They tried w the callis angle. It wasn't bad the toni storm storyline was okay. The ending w masks men let's let it play out. In order to develop a good storyline there's need to be time and promos in btw
@TrevorDame AEW at its best was a promo promotion, with the likes of Punk, Mox, Kingston, Danielson doing GREAT stuff that peaked before the PPV’s. That’s the vibe I want
@TrevorDame Just give me narrative coherence, characters based in realism and illogical stuff to a minimum.
