What is a hip drop tackle? Anyone that is tackling someone bigger typically drops their weight. Folks have been doing this with their dad/uncle/big brother in living rooms for years! It’s natural to do that when tackling someone bigger than you.
@TorreySmithWR thank you! this rule makes no sense
@TorreySmithWR The only issue I have with this tackle @TorreySmithWR is guys who are the same size or bigger than the person they are tackling and still execute that tackle. One instance I can think of is Logan Wilson tackle on Mark Andrews.
@TorreySmithWR Well, sad 2 say but just because you've been doing it doesn't mean it's ok, it's called evolution. For those against it just watch an example vid & understand what it really is. There are other ways to bring a ball carrier down w/o catastrophic injury. #KeepDAplayersONtheField.
@TorreySmithWR The owners really don’t understand that they’re slowing killing the product.
@TorreySmithWR Hip drop tackle is nerdy talk for a regular old tackle…
@TorreySmithWR It’s about the feet leaving the ground and then sliding them forward through the back of the runners legs. Keep your feet on the ground and behind the runner. Run through the tackle Don’t jump & slide them around like a rodeo wrestler.
@TorreySmithWR It’s how women, smaller in stature, are taught to defend themselves, gravity helps!!! 🤷🏻♀️
@TorreySmithWR The fact that they passed this unanimously is profoundly baffling..
@TorreySmithWR Adapt and overcome. Lot of players gonna lose out on good money because they won't.
@TorreySmithWR We were always taught to just go low and wrap? Doing something that we’ve done to older people in the living room doesn’t make it natural on a football field.
