@SirClmnt Commercial VPNs and enterprise corporate tunnels are not the same thing. A ban on the former does literally nothing to the latter. Remote jobs etc would be fine. But this won’t happen anyway. All will be fine.

Genuinely curious: is this an argument over the principle of digital rights, or are millions of Brits actually using personal VPNs daily? Stripping away the corporate/work infrastructure talk, are you all really running personal VPNs on your devices? As a self confessed nerd who doesn’t use VPNs for personal use - I’d love to know. #VPN

Firstly I do not agree with a VPN ban but secondly, a VPN ban wouldn’t affect your job! Everyone panicking about losing their remote jobs needs to take a breath. UK staff aren’t using commercial privacy VPNs to hide their IPs at work; they’re using secure corporate tunnels. Two entirely different things. A ban wouldn’t touch your job. Relax. Lastly—if you’re still stressed, just go befriend a tech nerd in the wild. We don't bite, and we'll gladly explain network architecture over a coffee so you can sleep at night. ☕🤓

@PrisonPlanet There’s a very big difference between nord/surfshark/norton VPNs for the main population to use, and then corporate/business/governmental tunnels that are used. IF there is a ban on VPNs, of course it would not touch corporate infrastructure. Ps. Am not pro a ban!

I may be in the minority, but the timing of a certain report released today feels questionable. During an election period, it risks being seen as political rather than transparent. Waiting a few days would not have reduced its impact - but could have protected its credibility. Manipulative game play; one is not impressed, but one is not surprised.
