Would you like to be perfect and complete, lacking nothing? James tells us to let patience have its perfect work in us. Patience doesn’t come except through trial. “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:4, NKJV).
Trials are necessary for the purifying of your faith. According to Romans 5:3-4, trials produce patience, patience produces character, and character produces hope. There’s no way to hope except through the trial!
Most Christians put life on cruise control. They don’t want any interruptions or interference & they definitely don’t want any trials. But I’ve got news for us: there’s no way to maturity except thru trials. James 1:2-3 tells us to consider it all joy WHEN we face trials.
Hope must be restored b/c hope taken away makes the heart sick. Jesus lives in us, and the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead that dwelled in and flowed through Jesus dwells in us, and we have the same authority of Jesus—the ability to command the enemy to let people go.
When somebody doesn’t know the Lord, they’re drinking out of a dry cup, hoping they can quench their thirst, but they can never be quenched. You can only drink from Jesus and be satisfied—He’s the Living Water. He’s the only One Who can fill you up and give you your created value
When you step into intimacy, the tendency to ever do something horrible becomes less and less frequent until it’s null and void. Then all of a sudden your whole life has changed and you don’t want to do things that don’t please the Father.
Jesus Christ is the One Who paid the price for me and He paid the price when I was twisted. He saw me in my state of sin and He still wanted me, which is ridiculous to the human mind. He wanted me and you back then, so why would He not want you and me still?
I’ve lived free for 19 years. Free from guilt, shame, condemnation, regret, fear. There are still things that come up where I can find fear approaching, but I have to recognize it & take control over it with the truth of God’s Word so that thing is cast out through perfect love!
Jesus paid a price for more than just to get you to heaven; He paid the price to get hell out of you! That’s exciting news, and it’s for me, and it’s for you!
When I do mess up, because I inevitably will, I don’t continue in sin and become a sinner again—I repent, change my way, get up, and keep going! When I look in the mirror, I don’t see fears and failures; I see my Father! That’s the gospel!
The reality of the blood of Jesus and the pure heart and clean hands that we can have keeps us from ever wanting to sin against God again. He is my Father and the last thing I want to do is tarnish this! When I know His love for me, I can love myself and I can therefore love you!
According to Colossians 2:14, Jesus took our sins away! He said it was finished, the veil was torn, and the presence of God behind the veil was made available to us 24/7. We have access to the Father!
It’s understanding and knowing the love of God that straightens us out. If there’s a problem with behavior or with character, it’s because there’s a problem with intimacy—how you see God and understanding how He sees you matters.
What does “free indeed” look like? It looks like your response being like Jesus; your talk is like Jesus; your walk is like Jesus. You pray for the sick, and they get healed like Jesus did. You prophesy like Jesus. You stand before the throne like Jesus.
Your joy doesn’t come from your situation; it comes from your salvation.
This life is a race—it’s not a marathon. And righteousness enables you to run the race with real grace that promotes holiness, purity, healthy passion—a life that never has to look in the mirror and be sad about yesterday or the day that you’re in.
To live without guilt, shame, condemnation, regret, or fear is Kingdom living.
When I open up God's Word, I pray “God, I need you to bypass my mind—this way I’m thinking—because it’s the way that seems right to a man.” I want the Ephesians 1:17 Spirit of wisdom and revelation to transform me and inform my understanding!
Whose love is perfect? The Father’s. If I don’t know Him, I’m going to be afraid. I’ve got to fall in love with the One who fell in love with me before I was even created. God so loved me when I was a sinner that Christ died for me. He died for me BACK THEN.
If you know that you’re perfectly loved, then you walk in freedom from fear—perfect love casts out ALL fear. God did not give you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Why did God even create us with a free will? Because you can’t love anybody unless you have a free will. Everyone that’s in His family chose to be in His family. And everyone who’s not in His family defiantly and rebelliously chose not to be in His family. You have a choice.
2 things I remind myself OFTEN: 1 - My job isn’t harder without the Holy Spirit, it’s IMPOSSIBLE. 2 - Abiding in Jesus isn’t just a helpful spiritual practice, it’s the only way I can accomplish ANYTHING. #Jn15:5
