Democrats could pass legislation on the floor of the House tomorrow codifying Roe v. Wade... but it's more profitable for them to cry on TV and fundraise off of the issue rather than actually work for their constituents.
@TimRunsHisMouth The House passed it. Where are the 60 votes in the Senate?
@TimRunsHisMouth Are you trying to be deceptive on purpose? The ruling says the Constitution is SILENT on the matter, that means it’s up to the States not the federal government, it’s called Federalism the basis of our form of government, the only option congress has is a Constitutional Amendment
@TimRunsHisMouth The law would in turn be struck down. To change things, they'd need to make a new amendment to the Constitution, which isn't going to happen. They'd need 2/3 of the Senate, 2/3 of the House and 3/4 of the States.
@TimRunsHisMouth And they could negotiate with moderate Republican senators like Collins and work out a 15 week abortion law, be in line with most European countries and pass it but they won’t.
@TimRunsHisMouth Roe vs wade is the dems Palestinian issue. Nobody really wants to do anything about it other than use it to leverage people.
@TimRunsHisMouth They've had 50 years to do something like this or try to amend the Constitution. But they've got no other platforms than abortion and race.
@TimRunsHisMouth That's why they haven't done it in the past 50 years, they can keep it a hot-button issue. They can use it to rile up their base.
@TimRunsHisMouth If politicians actually solved problems and resolved issues, they would quickly run out of battle cries for their elections and re-elections. We're being played.
