CAUGHT ON CAMERA: watch as a Douglas County Search and Rescue drone drops critical supplies to lost hikers near Bear Mountain on Thursday evening. Initial reports indicated the subjects were low on water and phone battery. While multiple teams were responding, the drone team located the subjects, established communication, confirmed they were uninjured, and returned with the care package supply drop. The missing hikers did an excellent job staying in place, calling for help once they realized they were disoriented and providing their coordinates. The DCSAR team reached the hikers and guided them to safety. Crews responded to a box truck fire in the 1400 block of E.61st Ave. at 8:35pm. The fire spread to a nearby shed that contained laundry linens. Firefighters extinguished the fire before there was damage to any structures. There were no injuries, and cause is under investigation.

Last night around 9:35 PM, our crews responded to a brush fire in the 7100 block of York Street, in between York Street and I-76 along the bike path. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and there were no injuries. The size of the fire was estimated to be around 3 acres.

This video is sights and sounds of Wednesday's grass fire involving North Area fire departments. If it not for the true teamwork of every single agency, this could've been much worse. The stand these firefighters made to save homes/property was what we train for!

Just after 9:30 AM, crews responded to a train railcar fire near 88th & Hwy 2. Fire was at the undercarriage and at the tail end of one of the rail cars. The fire was extinguished, no other rail cars were affected, and the cause is under investigation.

The busy weekend for Box 4 continues tonight. At 1845, 896 & 897 responded to a call for mutual aid in Wilmer, TX at 2804 Miller Ferry Rd. Wilmer fire crews had been out since early afternoon battling a large mulch pile fire. Once the cold front arrived, the high winds made their work much more difficult so they requested rehab to the scene. 829 also responded with us to provide air bottle refill and supply. Box 4 is the official provider of rehab services for Dallas Fire-Rescue. Box 4 Firebuffs is a volunteer staffed 501(c)3 charitable organization.

ACFR responded to a structure fire this morning at 5400 Brighton Blvd, assisting @SACFD200. This is dash cam footage of the BC 11 truck who was one of the first to respond along with Engine 23 and Rescue 23. In the footage, you see the roof collapse of the structure.

Today we responded on a report of a Commerical Carrier Fire due to a crash near I-70 and and Gun Club Rd. We would like to thank @AuroraFireDpt and @BennettFirePIO for their fantastic, and rapid support on this incident, as well as our amazing dispatch team at @SouthMetroPIO.

Elk Fire Update: These recent pictures and video taken by our Brush Truck 11 crew show the close proximity of the Elk Fire and the Lee Fire. Both fires are in Rio Blanco County, and both near the town of Meeker. Please refer to Rio Blanco Sheriff FB page for official info.

Brush Truck 11 remains deployed at the Elk Fire, which has grown significantly due to the hot, dry, and windy conditions. The fire is now at 13,025 acres. Yesterday the crew focused on structure protection efforts, which they will continue today as conditions remain challenging.

Last night at 9 PM our crews responded to a vehicle fire near I-76 and Tennyson Street. A truck traveling at a high rate of speed exited I- 76WB, struck a guard rail and landed below on Tennyson Street. Resulting in a crash and explosion. Driver was taken emergent to hospital

Unimpressed Bobcat Ignores Lasers, Strolls Out of Ken Caryl Home on Its Own Terms Cats and dogs chase laser pointers, but this bobcat was not impressed. When it wandered into a Ken Caryl home and cozied up behind the TV, our deputies thought outside the box—trying their TASER’s green lasers to coax it out. The bobcat’s verdict? Not interested. CAUGHT ON CAMERA: While on his way into work this afternoon, #DCSO Deputy Skalisky spotted a tornado touching down in neighboring Elbert County. He called it into Douglas Regional Dispatch and then immediately started checking on nearby residents, assessing the damage, and ensuring there were no gas leaks. Deputy Skalisky, who is also a trained paramedic, was in the right place, at the right time. Building actively burning at Sugarmill property near Longmont Boulder County, Colo. - On March 25, 2025 just after midnight, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office received reports of a structure fire at a building located on the Sugarmill property in the 11900 block of Sugarmill Rd. in Boulder County.  Fire apparatus from the Mountain View Fire Department and Longmont Fire Department responded and found a two story building fully engulfed on the property. Personnel from the Longmont Police Department and Boulder County Sheriff's Office also responded. Due to hazardous materials and conditions, fire personnel will not be actively fighting the fire and it will burn throughout the night. Personnel from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and Longmont Fire Department will remain on scene monitoring the fire. Sugarmill Road is closed and individuals are encouraged to stay away from the area. [There is no danger to public - remain outside the area controlled by fire and law enforcement personnel]. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown. Just after 10 a.m. today, Douglas County Sheriff's deputies and traffic investigators were requested to assist Colorado State Patrol after a CSP vehicle was struck from behind while on the right shoulder finishing a traffic stop on eastbound C-470 at University. The trooper was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle involved was cited for careless driving. This crash highlights the dangers law enforcement officers and other roadside workers face daily. Move over and slow down when approaching emergency vehicles or any vehicles with flashing lights. This includes law enforcement, fire, EMS, tow trucks, and other roadside workers. #MoveOverLaw @CSP_News
