@shaayefence @angelar68197975 Without a healthy economy in Australia, even companies that rely on export markets will become uncompetitive or irrelevant in the world markets. If that happens, they won’t be able to sell their goods into the international market, causing many Aussies to loose their jobs.

Our leaders are making things way more complex than necessary. Here is a way to simplify our tax picture. Scrap the current taxing system altogether and put in place a flat tax where one rate is paid on all sources of income, regardless of amount, source, or who or what earned it. Put a floor in place for people at the bottom. No deductions, no write-offs, no tricky accounting BS. The more one makes, the more they pay because it is based on a percentage of total income. Charge the same rate for individuals, and any other sort of entity like companies, trusts etc. Everyone and everything gets charged the same percentage. According to official government documentation which can be found at: archive.budget.gov.au/2024-25/fbo/do… the total tax receipts in ’24-'25 were $657.8 billion. In order to raise that amount of money we would have to have a flat tax of about 31%. Based on a GDP of 2.12 trillion dollars (worldometers.info/gdp/australia-…) that would raise about $657.2 billion for the government to spend. Some examples: Anyone making less than $50,000.00 per year pay no tax. Everyone else pays 31% (using the example above). EARNINGS TAX DUE $100,000 $31,000 $1,000,000 $310,000 $10,000,000 $3,100,000 If you make ten times more than someone else, you pay the times the amount of tax. With all the shenanigans and misleading statements coming from government these days, this might be the most straight forward solution to our problem of complex taxes we face each year.
