Tell the truth. Even when your shake. Even when people would rather have you tell a lie. You lose some, and attract authentic people. Telling the truth comes with risk, and great reward.
@Theholisticpsyc @DavidSandum Absolutely, always truth! #HonestyMatters
@Theholisticpsyc Most importantly, never lie to yourself
@Theholisticpsyc You also feel happier when you are honest.
@Theholisticpsyc You can't handle the truth. And most times, as Jack Nicholson says in a few good men we aren't entitled to the truth. But the truth sets us free to live a life of integrity. Liars don't heal.
My experiences go against the advice of 'grey rock' very difficult people. When I got brutally honest with people & didn't mince my words things always got better for me. Whether they stopped trying me or knew they could no longer manipulate me, the shift was positive.
When I was younger, (teens and 20’s) lying to keep up with the crowd was a thing I routinely did to fit in. Talk about people pleasing tendencies. 🙄 I didn’t know this but I was used to abandoning myself to feel safe amongst others. Being myself was never safe growing up. Healing this has been part of my work as an adult. Now, No is a valid answer, boundaries are well established, and I understand when I need to use both to maintain my own authenticity and balance :)
