To any ancient Egyptian experts. How many of Egypt's known invaders settled in Egypt? What were their numbers in comparison to the native Egyptian population? #Egypt #Egyptology #Kevinhart #Cleopatra #blacktwitter #Kemetic #ZahiHawass
@CrowdPleeza Impossible to tell, they didn't keep census back then. Also, immigrants started before even the 1st egyptian dynasty, as we have evidence of people from the Fertile Crescent coming to North Africa in the meso- and neolithic, 20,000 to 10,000 years ago.
@Daedalron I've seen people debate on how much the modern Egyptians are related to the ancient Egyptians. Some say the modern Egyptians are mostly related to the foreign groups who took over Egypt. I'm trying to get clarity on those foreign numbers.
@CrowdPleeza @Daedalron There were many foreign groups that immigrated into Egypt especially after conquest but (as there were no consensus to measure accurately, take that with a salt mine) their numbers were "relatively" small when compared to Egyptians who were estimated to have numbered in the
@CrowdPleeza @Daedalron Millions (by the time of the Greeks at least)
@CrowdPleeza @Daedalron So the most common theory is that these people would settle in Egypt and with time they'd just be absorbed into the Egyptian genepool with their impact being there but not enough to "change" the population in any significant way.
