@TheVatStack, just wanted to thank you for writing this article. Not all of us in the ACP are fully aware of the perspectives of our reserve membership. Many of us have been a part of what led to the culmination of the ACP for 5 or so years so we can forget that we casually slip into our shared experience as a second language. I actually regret not getting to speak with you personally, although it does seem like you caught a little bit of the dual power conversation I was in on the first day. Moreover, I'm sincerely thankful for your candid approach to both the positives and negatives of our party, whether or not we agree, to know how one (or plur) is perceived is more valuable than most are capable of seeing. A whole-process democracy is most vulnerable when it is most blind. And blindness is only cured in such an endeavor thru the cultivation of active listening to the voices we haven't yet heard from, particularly ones from our reserves, who provide the most value as a temp check for the party. I will say that you were onto something when you realized there's missing value to be gleaned from Mao, Deng and other eastern Marxists. These were the theorists who took not only a different approach, but advanced Marxism-Leninism differently than their predecessors and gave proof that ML isn't a dogma, but a socioeconomic science that must be applied differently in different theaters with different material and historical contexts. I won't pretend that I don't personally have an affinity for Mao & Deng, as well as Xi Jinping thought and the sociologically driven projects of Huang Wenxiu. I am glad you got to experience our collective and absorbed its sincerity. I'm also glad you got to experience that we're not a hive, but a sincere group of individuals with a diverse set of cultural as well as intellectual values with a common purpose. I do know that many in party leadership are interested in lowering the financial barriers to becoming cadre.., but for now, it's an issue that may have to persist until such time as our chapter businesses produce in excess of operational costs. All said, thank you for a sincere investigation and critique of us.., and I know I for one am glad for your honest inquiry into us. My mom had a saying: "shoot the cripples first" It means that you should order tasks from easiest to hardest. After using this saying in a work meeting, it occurred to me to Google the origin of the phrase. Google came up with one instance of it, written by me years ago.
