The power to amend the Washington State Constitution is on the ballot this year. All Dems need to do is hold their current seats (possible), pick up four seats in the Senate and eight in the House (plausible), and elect a Dem Governor (probable). #waelex thestranger.com/elections-2024…
@TheStranger The only reason progressives want to amend the WA and Federal Constitutions is because they can't get their agenda through on its own merits.
@TheStranger If they're not defending female-only spaces and sports, they're not getting my vote. I'm a progressive and Dems have lost their minds on this issue.
@TheStranger Can't wait to watch which county lines get moved for this to be accomplished.
@TheStranger Goodbye 1st and 2nd amendments. Probably the entire Bill of Rights.
@TheStranger Doesn't it also require voter approval at the polls? The U.S. constitution does require voter approval of any proposed amendment.
@TheStranger How disingenuous your headline. The Washington Constitution can be amended with a legislative or covention-referred constitutional amendment, BOTH of which require voter approval.
@TheStranger Let's make that happen Washington State!
@TheStranger Strange that Washington hasn’t had a Republican Governor since it moved to mail in voting.
